Marriage and Fitness…

I am a firm believer that the couple that plays together stays together and fitness is a great way to do that.  We all know that fitness is great for you but its even better when you have a workout buddy that motivates you and keeps you on your toes. Incorporating your partner in your fitness goals is a great way to stay focused and find a fun way to be a little competitive yet supportive to the love of your life. When both partners enjoy a healthy and fit lifestyle, there is no temptation standing in your way. You both get to see the positive results of your chiseled and toned bodies that have enough stamina to keep going and going…

Being fit together  doesn’t mean that you have to give up those cuddle, stay-in nights where you both share a bottle of wine. Anything that is active and keeps your body moving for a long period of time while elevating your heart rate is considered to be exercise. Fitness could be as easy as riding bike or taking a walk together after dinner. Playing tennis, racquet ball, volleyball or other sports on a Friday evening instead of going to the bar during happy hour. There are so many ways to have fun and get fit together such as taking a ballroom dance class or joining a salsa social group.

Attending a fitness class at your local gym or attempting to do one of the fitness CDs you purchased years ago but never tried. With YouTube at your disposition any time you want, the countless exercise videos and channels can provide hours of new and exciting exercise you can do at the comfort of your home. And there’s also the weight room; it so much fun to have your partner be your spotter. You can motivate each other to lift heavier or do that last rep that makes your whole body shake uncontrollably.

And then there is the fun you can have in the kitchen. Staying healthy is 80% of what you put in your body, so cooking clean is even more important that the exercises. To keep it exciting in the kitchen you can’t be afraid to get a little dirty. Its about looking for fun  and exotic recipes that you can both cook together. So many recipes will make you crush or squish vegetables or fruits which will allow for some sensual vibes to be going on in the kitchen.  And then when you are done, you can take those vibes from the kitchen into the bedroom where you can exert even more calories while getting a different kind of exercise on 😉
