Flower Beauty; My New Hidden Gem

While reading an article on one of my favorite actresses Drew Barrymore, I discovered her beauty line Flower. It is so fitting for her to name it Flower because that is exactly how I envision her personality to be. She is beautiful, fresh, sweet and full of vibrant colors.  I have been a fan of Drew Barrymore for so many years because we both grew up during the same era. When she was a little girl in E.T., I was a little girl in Miami dreaming that I could be one of the characters in that film. When she changed her beautiful long blonde locks to a pixie cut, I admired from a distance knowing that I could never be that brave (and still today, I can’t).

She experienced her childhood very differently than I did mine but as you look at the woman and mother she turned out to be, we are both not so different. She is a mom to two beautiful little girls, loves animals and is highly involved with organizations speaking out on behalf of defenseless animals. I am a mom of three little girls, love animals and speak for those animals in need as well.  You see, we aren’t so different after all and I am pretty sure if we ran into each other somewhere, we would become great friends (I know! Wishful thinking).

Flower Beauty is an amazing makeup line that offers a variety of products ranging from highlighters to makeup bags to even perfume. But the best thing about this line is that it is marketed for anyone looking for great quality makeup. Flower Beauty is only found at Walmart and her Flower Beauty website. According to articles, she does not advertise her line but relies on word of mouth to spread the word about her great products. Since she doesn’t spend thousands of dollars in advertisements, she is able to keep her line cruelty-free by spending the advertising money on better quality ingredients. Another rare opportunity this line offers is that women from different pay-scales can afford to buy these luxurious products.

I know that it must feel great to walk into a high-end store and spend hundreds of dollars on beauty products but the reality is that many of us don’t have that privilege. I rather spend my dollars on things for my girls than spend a lot of money in beauty products for me. But by selling at Walmart, she can reach out to so many women that would love the opportunity to buy great quality products at an affordable price. Kudos to Drew for creating a little beauty haven which makes us all feel like a million dollars.
