Champagne Gummies…Its Rosé all Day!

Champagne Gummies…Its Rosé all Day!

Is Champagne having a year or what? Rosé…psh, it’s become THE drink of the generation with a cult following of memes, clothing, expressions etc. This is fantastic news to me because Champagne and its ultra glamorous sister Rosé have always been personal faves of mine. I’m on the bandwagon and have no intention of getting off anytime soon.  Whenever trending occurs you inevitably get the onslaught of kitschy items capitalizing on the moment, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t.

In comes Champagne and Rosé Gummy Bears by Project 7; yes, gummy bears like the ones we loved as kids.  The packaging is appealing and I loved the novelty aspect. Had these actually been laced with booze I think it would have catapulted this product into a cult following but for the ease of logistics of social responsibility what they offer in fact in Champagne and Rosé FLAVORED gummies for your enjoyment. Color wise these gummies fit the bill, matching the beautiful golden color of the Champagne and the distinctively feminine blush of the Rosé.

I wanted them to be really bubbly, like the sparkling Jell-O that I still think is brilliant. Unfortunately, the similarities end with color and (I’m reaching here) taste. There was a subtle fruitiness that was much more subdued than with regular fruit flavored gummies so I’ll give them that. I wanted them to have the ever so subtle fermented taste reminiscent of the real stuff; sadly no they kept things conservative and went with a slightly less sweet grapy-version of gummies.

I still gotta give them mad props for the concept of combining adult themes with adolescent quirkiness (mermaids, unicorns, Lisa Frank etc.) seem to be the theme of the current generation of pseudo-adults. A side note about this particular brand, I’ve tried many flavors of their unique gum from Birthday Cake, to Thin Mint Cookie, Red Velvet Cupcake and more.

The flavor profile is trippy accurate so much so that I feel the need to brush my teeth afterward because it feels like you’ve coated your teeth in the real thing. Not necessary since they are sugar-free and pose no risk to teeth and thighs. Yay!
