Peatos…because tigers live longer than cheetahs

I’ve definitely become a snack snob. No longer do I need to choose between good for me snacks and cravable taste; I can have both. Peatos is one of my favs, so much so that I actually reached out to them and said “hey, I love your products please let me do a feature” and they humbly obliged. You see Peatos looks just like your average cheesy snack curl except its not- it has major flavor and is made from pulses; yes, pulses like peas, lentils, and fava beans. These gluten-free, non-GMO snackies have 4 grams of plant-based protein per serving not to mention 3 grams of fiber and no artificial colors or flavors. With less fat, calories and sodium than traditional cheese snacks they deliver a nutritional advantage over the other guys.

As far as the taste their popular standby is Classic Cheese, a savory, tasty blend made with real cheese and all the delicious, orange finger taste you’d expect. They also have a fiery hot version; a base of smoky heat with an extra spicy kick that lingers so good. Chili Cheese is also delish, a great combination between their two signature flavors with enough heat to stay interesting while still letting the decadent cheese flavor shine through. I’ve saved the best for last as my hands-down favorite flavor is something you’d least expect yet one bite had me wondering “why hasn’t anyone thought of this before.”

Masala, the cornerstone spice of any Indian curry makes its way into the snack world and things have never been the same. The classic aroma of warm Masala hits you first and literally makes your mouth water. The taste is true, rich traditional Masala with the undeniable savory yet balanced profile that is anything but bland. One bite and I was hooked, luckily their 1oz. bag was just the right size because I devoured every last crumb and had to control myself from licking the bag. They also offer a 3oz. size perfect for sharing although if I tore open that size of the Masala flavor I doubt anyone would get a taste. Find Peatos in the produce section of Vons, Pavilions, Albertson’s, Kroger’s, Safeway or online at Amazon. Don’t take my word for it, try it for yourself and don’t say you weren’t warned.
