Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals Foundation
It’s no secret I’m drawn to beautiful and interesting finds. This is no different, since I wasn’t even in the market for a new foundation; saw this bottle and HAD to try it. The bottle design reeled me in especially with its unique dispenser and encapsulated beads. The bottle holds differently tinted foundation spheres floating in a hydrating serum that are released with each pump for a multi-faceted tint with natural looking high/low lights. I love the blend of skin tones as I find it matches days when I’m a little tanned or days when I’m a bit pale.
The brand’s core concept is based off its skin minerals -good for you makeup if you will; that provide amazing skin benefits every time you apply your makeup. Also touted as an anti-aging superstar, with its heavy use of hyaluronic acid that plumps the skin and smooths fine lines. While I don’t have any redness issues a friend swears by the brand and its soothing aloe based products that never seem to exacerbate her symptoms.
The strengths of the foundation in my opinion: definitely its silky texture and vitamin infused formulation that helps treat the skin without adding another step to your routine. Its weakness: the end result is dewy and hydrating-great for some but a definite no-no for my oily skin. Too heavy for most days and a shiny mess even with the use of primer; but on the rare occasion I’m feeling a bit dry or need a little coverage as I run out the door this acts as both a dose of moisture and skin perfecting. If you have dry and/or mature skin this would be one of my top recommendations.
