Is Lavva Yogurt Right For You?

plant-based, pili nut, coconut, vegan, organic, yogurt, cassava, prebiotic, probiotic, plantain,

Have you ever tried a plant-based yogurt? Not all yogurts are created equal. Some are filled with sugar while others are actually really good. And talking about good-for-you, I would like to introduce you to Lavva plant-based yogurts. These yogurts stand in a category all of their own.

They started with “a luscious blend of creamy, sprouted Pili nuts, prebiotic-rich plantains, silky coconut, and cassava. Next, we add a special blend of live, vegan probiotic cultures (brilliantly paired with prebiotic fiber) to bring our yogurt to life, and then we finish each flavor with 100% real fruit—free of added sugar, gums, or stabilizers.”

Now I know what you are thinking, but are they any good? Well, at first bite this yogurt is quite unique. I was expecting a spoonful of sugary custard but it was actually quite bitter.

Because there are no added sugars, it really surprised my tastebuds.

The first flavor I tested was mango. I have to admit that at first bite, I wasn’t a fan. I think I was just really surprised by the bitterness. As I continued to eat the yogurt, I actually started enjoying it but my five-year-old did not. However, she wanted me to open the blueberry for her to test it out.

The blueberry yogurt was really thick and you can see little blueberries chunks inside. She absolutely loved this yogurt while I didn’t care much for it. She said that it was “really good.”

The next day I set out to try the vanilla flavor. Again, expect a little bit of bitterness at first bite but then you get used to it. This yogurt had a nice consistency to it. It was thick and you can feel and taste little chunks of what I believed to be coconut.

Raspberry was the last flavor I needed to test out. Great consistency and taste. It’s pretty innovative how they were able to create thick yogurts without the use of gum or added sugars.

Lavva yogurts have very unique ingredients not found in other yogurts out in the market. They have prebiotics and 50 billion probiotics all from vegan cultures. If you are a yogurt lover you definitely need to give them a try. Just remember not to expect a spoonful of sugar because these yogurts only have real food ingredients.
