Rodan and Fields Redefine Line

I won’t get into the hot button discussion of MLM’s and Independent Consultants. While I’ve never actually been a consultant of anything (I can’t even sell a discount heater to a billionaire Eskimo) I have been on the purchasing end of many, many MANY direct sales attempts with minimal apprehension.  I’m every sales person dream; I listen patiently to every sales shpiel, nod politely and forget everything I learned in higher education about how it’s not psychically possible to lose 10 inches off my waist in 20 minutes.

Then, I buy and boy do I ever. I usually buy the biggest, baddest most exclusive AKA expensive thing they offer and remind THEM when it’s time to re-order. I have since seen the error of my ways and vowed never again to buy anything from anyone who starts the conversation with …”have you ever thought about…” There’s a caveat to this vow however, a clause that states that if the product ACTUALLY works, and ACTUALLY brings me joy then by all means, swipe that card. This is one of those stories, It involves top line skin care rivaling luxury, European skincare brands brought to us by non-other that Guthy Renker’s golden child(ren) Rodan and Field.

I promise you know them, Rodan and Field’s built their empire on the Proactiv fame and fortune and have since branched out into luxury skincare that yes, you guessed it, is sold through direct marketing. Here’s what sets them apart, the first person who sold me a kit of their Unblemished line was an RN who I consider a near demi-goddess in the cosmetic surgery world. This nurse has access to top grade fillers, lasers, treatments, and professional grade skincare, yet here she was divulging a beauty secret that cost less than $300 for the entire line. She didn’t pressure me; she simply stated nonchalantly what she would suggest after I listed off my skin concerns.

Done, a couple clicks and a few days of waiting left me with a complete skincare system guaranteed to free me of my breakouts. Simply stated, it worked; it worked fast, efficiently and without any side effects. I later found out a friend of mine was also selling the line and purchased the complete Redefine line from her as well as an Active Hydration Serum, Lash Boost and Foaming Sunless Tan.

All worked exceptionally well, the textures beautiful, the results noticeable. I was hooked, it’s really such a simple concept yet so many companies get it wrong. Sell me good $hi!t and I’ll come back begging  for more, sell me crap and I’ll avoid you at every luncheon from here to eternity.

Luckily, my Rodan and Field’s products have been nothing short of remarkable, my friendships remain intact and the shroud of skepticism from direct sales lifted ever so slightly.
